  • Teaching the Faith at Home

"Dr. Rueter has combined his experience as an educator in the congregation and university with thorough research and insight to produce a text that explains catechetical instruction and equips the reader to realize its benefits. The history, doctrine, wisdom, and practical means of providing catechetical instruction contained in Teaching the Faith at Home make it a greatly needed resource for Christianity."

—Michael Eschelbach, Professor of Theology Concordia University Irvine

  • Called to Serve

“Dave Rueter has done an excellent job of tracing the theology and history of the offices for ministry in the LCMS. He has highlighted the conflicts as workers have sought to serve together in ministry. While professional church workers are called to serve congregations as a unified team, conflict has often disrupted this leadership. How we recognize ministers of religion ordained and commissioned in conventions of the districts and synod is an ongoing debate, which Dave addresses with a recommendation. This book is a helpful study for all levels of the Church.”

—Rev. Dr. Larry Stoterau, president emeritus, Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS

  • Relationships Count (Contributor)

In 2016, the LCMS Youth Ministry and LCMS Research embarked on a special accounting of the millennial generation. This three-phase research project, composed of surveys and focus groups, aimed to understand retention rates of LCMS millennials. The conclusions of the research are found here, hoping to give church leaders a better understanding of these retention rates and why those who left the LCMS decided to, potential areas where the church can improve retention rates for future generations, and inform the church on how to better minister to today's young adults. This is the only research specifically targeted at young adults who were raised LCMS but later left.

  • Connected for Life (Contributor)

Youth are not just the church’s future—they’re also the church’s now. As a leader, volunteer, or church worker, your job is to remind youth that they’re loved by Jesus and their congregation. At its core, youth ministry is about connecting childhood to adulthood and laying a strong foundation that encourages members to stay connected to the church throughout their lives.

  • Words of Strength and Promise (Contributor)

Teens need devotions written for them, to them, about things they're going through. Sometimes it might be uncomfortable to go to a trusted adult or a pastor about certain topics. That's where this devotional comes in. Give the youth in your life 70 different devotions on topics they either already do, or will be needing guidance on in the future.
